In response to statements by the Mayor on the issue Ecofox Lapenna. Be pointed out that it was not an "attack" - as claimed by the first citizen - but a request for clarification of the political position of the City of Vasto in relation to the question Ecofox. The Mayor, in his reply to our intervention, pointed out that the City Council Vasto, in 2008, expressed himself voting against the extension of Ecofox. Well! but we have raised another issue, namely the lack of opposition from the City of Vasto in the Conferences of services relating to authorizations in favor of AIA Ecofox. The City of Vasto, in fact, merely to raise some concerns, but administratively not objected (as well as the minutes of the conf.d services 30/07/2009).
Indeed, we note that in recent years has done nothing concrete to facilitate the relocation, so much so that today we find ourselves in a situation where no one talks about it and Ecofox continues to forward requests to the various entities in the hope of being able to develop. A regard we highlight the need to start as soon as possible the process of relocation and - for the moment - we are pleased to note that the mayor is committed - after our intervention - to protect the public area affected by the application does not only politically but also administratively.
In relation to the statements of the company that talks about "putting in security systems" emphasize that the application submitted on 05/03/2008 by Ecofox object has the following "Modify existing plant with increased capacity for storage of raw materials and methyl alcohol ". Although Ecofox argues that the new application relates only to the safety and improvements, the study's overall story - particularly with regard to the documents cited - It follows that the will of Ecofox is to invest and expand the existing plant.

This morning at the headquarters of Pescara in the Abruzzo region will hold a conference to discuss the acquisition of services by the Company Ecofox Broad of the Integrated Environmental (EIA) Decree 59 \\ 2005. There are two requests made by the company in question that will be analyzed. Both instances, the first of 2008 and the other a few months ago, if accepted would allow the company to expand and modify existing facilities. Recall that the Ecofox is a chemical company that produces bio-disel and that the plant, located in Vasto at Punta Penna, is in a very fragile environment from the point of view: a few meters from the sea, near the stream and Lebbe surrounded by nature reserve.
That said, it should be noted that IDV we are to encourage local productive activities, but in this case, we believe that this activity is in fact incompatible con il sito dove essa è ubicata. Per questa ragione venerdì scorso la Consigliera Eliana Menna ( vice-presidente della Commissione Ambiente della Provincia ) ha convocato d’urgenza la Commissione Ambiente. In Commissione la Consigliera ha evidenziato come l’attività della ditta Ecofox sia già oggi incompatibile con ogni atto di pianificazione territoriale, con la Leg.Reg. N°5, con il protocollo d’intesa per il progetto di rigenerazione della costa teatina, con la richiesta di istituzione di un Parco Nazionale della costa teatina, con il parco archeologico sottostante e con ogni attività turistica e naturalistica. La Commissione Ambiente della Provincia, ad unanimità, ha immediatamente dato indicazione al tecnico della Provincia, che parteciperà alla conferenza di servizi, di richiedere la sospensione della procedura AIA riguardante la Ecofox.
Il Comune di Vasto nella Conferenza di servizi sulle questioni Ecofox ha sempre dato pareri favorevoli. Atteso che la questione non è tecnica ma politica, noi dell’IDV chiediamo chiarezza al Comune di Vasto ed in particolare al Sindaco affinché esprima la sua posizione politica a riguardo. Il Sindaco ha sempre dichiarato la volontà di tutelare quella zona ma a livello amministrativo ha dimostrato esattamente il contrario.
Per i motivi rappresentati, chiediamo alla Regione Abruzzo e al Comune di Vasto di bloccare le procedure in essere e di prendere una posizione politica chiara rispetto alla delocalizzazione di this company and the recovery of the whole area.
