La gente invece di avvicinarsi al Gazebo - postazione dei volontari - nella maggioranza dei casi devia il suo percorso e si concede all'informazione solo quando qualcuno dei volontari riesce a far comprendere che non sono "depliant politici" e soprattutto che non ci sono richieste di denaro. C'è chi rifugge dal contatto con la gente e si rifugia in casa. Chi non vuol far sapere dell'accadimento. Chi pensa che ormai tutto è ritornato normale per cui riprende abitudini deleterie. I familiari molte volte restano in apprensione per motivi comprovati o solo per delle fisime personali insite negli scompensi psicologici Anche i familiari di donatori hanno, a volte, complesse vicende personali nei rapporti familiari o per qualcosa che si altera nei comportamenti senza che magari il soggetto se ne accorga ma che preoccupa chi gli sta vicino.
Ecco allora che un preciso punto e visibile di riferimento nella struttura sanitaria sarebbe di ottimo supporto a che ne ha bisogno . Per il pre trapianto una grande collaborazione dovrebbe stabilirsi tra le Associazioni di trapiantati e le equipe mediche che sovrintendono alla immissione in lista di attesa. Personalmente posso testimoniare, con mia moglie, che al momento dell'annuncio della necessità di essere trapiantato e quindi di dover decidere l'inizio della procedura per la messa in lista, mi è stato decisivo l'incontro con l'amico Sergio che era già trapiantato e mi ha confortato nella scelta con la sua presenza. Poi anch'io personalmente ed anche con molti altri amici trapiantati dell'A.I.T.F.
